Volunteer with Rainbow Connections
Volunteering with Rainbow Connections is a meaningful way to create a positive impact on Trans and Queer youth in the community.
Our two 2SLGBTQIA+ youth-led social groups, Queer Qlub (for those aged 12-18) and Young Adult Social (for those aged 19-30), are volunteer (or VolunQueer to us) operated, and we couldn’t exist without their kindness, generosity, dedication, and support. Thank you, VolunQueers, for all you do!

1 VolunQueer Host for Young Adult Social
2 VolunQueer Hosts for Queer Qlub
1 VolunQueer for a bi-weekly snack pick-up
Volunteer Requirements:
Must be 19+
Must complete a Vulnerable Sector police check prior to volunteering

Through the support of the Program Coordinator, VolunQueer Hosts hold space for Rainbow Connections program participants. VolunQueer Hosts facilitate program events while remaining mindful of opportunities for program participants’ involvement.
VolunQueers are needed for 2 hours in the evening once per week for either Queer Qlub or Youth Adult Social.

Through the support of the Project Manager, the Program Coordinator plans, attends, and facilitates youth led programming for Rainbow Connections social groups. They work closely with program participants to create a program plan of events and activities while maintaining the values of Rainbow Connections (safe, accessible, inclusive, and community focused.) The Program Coordinator creates opportunities for program participants to interact within the Rainbow Connections community and the community at large.

The Project Manager oversees and supports Rainbow Connections’ Program Coordinators. This hybrid position requires work from home and on-site in St Thomas, Ontario. The Project Manager is the public-facing representative for Rainbow Connections – making connections in the community and acquiring donations. This position oversees and supports Program Coordinators and occasionally attends Queer Qlub and Young Adult Social when needed.
